Shipping charges for retail orders are based on the retail value of the items shipped per address.

Orders normally ship from our warehouse within 2 business days of receipt via UPS ground.
Allow additional time for orders placed in December.

Incorrect address may delay shipment. Your order may be subject to additional charges imposed by the carrier for address corrections or forwarding.
Undeliverable shipments returned to Heart of the Desert may be subject to fees imposed by the carrier.
Adult signatures are required upon delivery. The current UPS fee for the delivery service will be added to each box shipped upon processing your order.

Shipping chocolate is tricky business. We work hard to ensure that our chocolate is delivered fresh and in perfect condition. To reduce the risk of melted chocolate on orders in transit to warmer climates we discourage ground shipping. We are unable to guarantee that the chocolate will arrive in satisfactory condition.
To avoid product sitting in a UPS truck over the weekend during the warmer months, all shipments leave our facility Monday-Thursday.

International orders may require duties and taxes upon delivery. These fees are not included in the price we charge for shipping your package.
Customs checks all inbound international packages and mail. During this process, a customs officer in the country you’re shipping to will review the package to make sure it meets the country’s laws, regulations and policies. They will also determine what duties and taxes might be due. The fees are generally collected from the receiver upon delivery.
Gift certificates purchased online must also be redeemed online.
Printed gift certificates are available in our 3 retail locations. If you want to purchase a gift certificate that can be redeemed in our retail stores, please visit the store of your choice and request a certificate.

On the very rare occasion, should you ever receive a package that has been damaged or mishandled during delivery:
DO notify us immediately at 800-432-0999 so we can rectify the situation. We may also ask that the contents be returned to us.
DO NOT throw the package away, as our carrier requires proof of damage and we may request a digital photo of the damaged package.
