Our New Mexico Wine
Our 20-acre vineyard is over 20 years old, rooted under the same desert sun as our pistachios in Alamogordo, New Mexico. We grow seven varieties of grapes: Cabernet, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Malvasia Bianca, Riesling, Shiraz, and Zinfandel.

Cabernet Sauvignon
Silver Medal | 2017 NM State Fair Wine Competition
Our Cabernet Sauvignon is a dry, full-bodied red wine. With flavors of dark cherry, cedar, and black currant, this is one of our go-tos for entertaining. Enjoy it at room temperature paired with rich flavors like aged cheddar, wild game, and dark chocolate.
Chardonnay

Our Chardonnay is a classic, medium-dry white wine with refreshing citrus notes that make it especially enjoyable on a warm summer’s evening. Serve this one chilled with rich meals like creamy pasta, buttery seafood, or a classic New Mexican green chile cheeseburger.
Corazón Gitano
Silver Medal | 2022 NM State Fair Wine Competition
Corazón Gitano is a romantic blend of Merlot, Zinfandel, and Sangiovese grapes. Robust and flavorful, it pairs well with other daring flavors like blue cheese, dark chocolate, smoked meat, and prime rib. This is a great one for special occasions.
Gewürztraminer

Our Gewürztraminer is a classic German white wine that’s sweet and acidic, balanced by spicy overtones and complemented by a fresh, floral aroma. We love it with poultry, pork, and veal, as well as spicy dishes from Asia, India, and the Middle East.
Malvasia Bianca
Gold Medal | 2022 NM State Fair Wine Competition
Malvasia Bianca is a sweet white wine that’s fresh and fruity with honey overtones. Its silky sweetness makes it a great dessert wine, though it also dazzles with light seafood dishes like shrimp tacos. In the summer, we love to mix this one with our Viva La Roja for a sweet sangria.
Merlot
Silver Medal | 2024 NM State Fair Wine Competition
Our Merlot is dry, smooth, and fruit-forward. Easy on the palate, with ripe berry components in the bouquet and a delightful cherry finish, it pairs well with dark chocolate, red meats, and tomato-based dishes. Come winter, this one is a cozy companion to sit in front of a fire with.
Pistachio Rosé

The Pistachio Rosé is our proprietary blend of Zinfandel and Chenin Blanc grapes, with a hint of pistachio extract. Its fruity aroma, grounded by a roasted pistachio finish, pairs well with charcuterie, fresh salads, and pork. Splash some over vanilla or pistachio ice cream for a boozy dessert.
Riesling
Gold Medal | 2023 NM State Fair Wine Competition
Our Riesling features a beautiful bouquet of white flowers and ripe pears. Lusciously sweet, yet lifted by bright acidity, it pairs well with spicy dishes and creamy pastas, as well as fresh salad topped with pear or melon. It also works with turkey and chicken, making it a holiday favorite.
Royal Zinphony

The Royal Zinphony is a proprietary blend, featuring a 50/50 split of our Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel grapes. This light and fruity red boasts a berry-forward flavor that’s nice with spicy foods, red meat, and salty snacks. Enjoy it on its own, or pour some to go with tonight’s dinner.
Syrah

Our Syrah is a balanced, rich wine with an intense, fruity flavor reminiscent of ripe red berries. That fruitiness, accented by an aromatic bouquet of dark spices and white pepper, makes this one an easy crowd-pleaser. We love to serve it with spicy ethnic dishes, like Thai or Mexican cuisine.
Viva La Roja
Gold Medal & Best in Class | 2023 NM State Fair Wine Competition
The Viva La Roja is a rich, full-bodied blend of Zinfandel, Merlot, and Muscat grapes. Low in tannins, with notes of dark cherry, pomegranate, and strawberry, it works well with cream sauces and buttery dishes. We love this one slightly chilled, but many folks also enjoy it at room temperature.
White Zinfandel

Our White Zinfandel is a floral, moderately sweet wine with a flavor of melon and white peaches and a bouquet of strawberries and rose petals. This one is very approachable and easy to drink. We enjoy it with oily fish like salmon and salty snacks like pretzels or pistachios.

We can ship our New Mexico wine to the states shaded in red below. An adult signature is required for every package that’s delivered. Membership does not include shipping or the $8.70 adult signature fee.
Heart of the Desert Wine Club FAQs
What’s the difference between a Standard Wine Club Membership and a Custom Wine Club Membership?
With a Standard Membership, you will receive two bottles of wine selected by Heart of the Desert every other month. With a Custom Membership, you select your two favorite Heart of the Desert wines upfront, and those two are what you receive every other month.
When do I receive my two bottles of wine?
Wine Club is delivered or can be picked up at any of our three locations every other month. You will receive bottles in January, March, May, July, September, and November.
I don’t want my wine shipped. Can I pick it up instead?
Of course! You can pick up your Wine Club bottles at any of our locations (addresses below). We will email you every other month when your Wine Club order is ready for pick-up.

How much does the Heart of the Desert Wine Club cost?
Our wine ranges from $14 to $21 a bottle before the 20% Wine Club membership discount. This does not include shipping or the required $8.70 adult signature fee per shipment.
How and when am I billed for my Heart of the Desert Wine Club membership?
When you sign up for the Heart of the Desert Wine Club, you will give us a credit card to keep on file. We will charge it on the first of every other month (Jan, Mar, May, July, Sept, Nov). If the first falls on a weekend or holiday, we charge on the next business day.
Can I pause or cancel my membership?
Absolutely. If you need to pause or cancel your membership, you may do so at any time. Please call us at 800-432-0999 to make changes to your Heart of the Desert Wine Club membership.
